Ebony ‘JET’ Tay

Ebony aka ‘JET’ Tay is an award-winning composer, guitarist, and film producer. As a self-taught singer and songwriter, Tay received a private sector scholarship to attend The Juilliard School to study composition and music theory. She has since composed several film scores while recording her own music and experimenting with creative ways to bring sound effects to life using technology. For her first feature film, Hate Crime, Tay produced a hit remix that made the top 20 of Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Tay was discovered by music icon Les Garland (MTV, VH1, The Box), and later signed by Chris Blackwell of Island Records and Palm Pictures, joining Bob Marley and U2 on the famed label’s impressive lineup. She has toured extensively through Europe and has opened for Hall & Oates, Mobb Deep, Indie Arie, Brian McKnight, and Gypsy Kings. Tay was signed by A&R mogul Don Rubin (Tracy Chapman, Marcy Playground) to Sony/Edel records and worked with producers for Beck, Perry Ferrell, the Rolling Stones, and Nine Inch Nails.

Inspired by science and technology and fascinated with the future, ‘JET’s latest work garners the attention of the millennial demographic. She is always looking for unique and innovative ways to craft soundtracks on new storytelling platforms like web series, virtual reality and online streaming venues.
